4th Grade

We teach six of Units of Inquiry at each grade level. The six organizing themes are "Who We Are", "Where We Are In Place and Time", "How We Express Ourselves", "How the World Works", "How We Organize Ourselves" and "Sharing the Planet".

Chart.  What is the carbon footprint of our 4th grade?

 

1.  Pick a topic

  • Water Pollution
  • Air Pollution
  • Electronic Waste
  • Pollution
  • Forest Conservation
  • Renewable Energy
  • Ozone
  • Global warming

2.  Create  a new Google slide show.  Share it with me at Carolyn.Townsend@mpls.k12.mn.us.

3.  Use ELM Resources for kids – Kids Infobits to research your topic.  Add 3 or more interesting pieces of information or information that you didn’t know before to create each of these cards.  Cite your source of information on your Works Cited card (final card).

Card 1:  Title Card (Title of topic and your name)

Card 2:  What is it?

Card 3:  Why is it important?

Card 4:  What can you do about it?

Card 5:  Works Cited page(s)

 

4.  Add Pictures using Kidsinfobits or Google Image search.  Add your citations to your final card.

Citations will be copied- pasted from ELM Kids Infobits or Encyclopedia Britannica

OR create your own which includes:

Author, Title, Source name, Web address, and date used.
