Bridget Rettke Berg

My name is Bridget Rettke Berg and I am a math resource teacher here at Whittier. I came to Whittier in 2006 and go by Ms. Bridget. I have had many roles here including teaching grades 1, 3, 4 and 5. I was also the I.B. Coordinator.

I started my career in 1995 as a Spanish teacher in Eden Prairie. I then came to Minneapolis in 1997 teaching at Green Central. I took a two year leave to teach in New York City. When I returned, I taught at Emerson Spanish Immersion before coming here to Whittier.

I enjoy teaching at an I.B.-PYP school because I get to use my creativity to collaborate with colleagues and students. Teaching through inquiry allows students to make connections to our local and global communities. Students are encouraged to be thinkers and ask questions. I enjoy learning alongside my students as we share our thinking and see ideas through multiple perspectives.

I share my home with my husband and three children. I am fortunate that all three children have been students here at Whittier. In our free time we like to read, watch movies and play games.
