Finding and using Non Fiction books

 

A. I know how non fiction books are organized in the library.

I can find nonfiction books that  I am looking for.

1.  As a class, learn about the Dewey Decimal system and practicing finding numbers for books

2.  Complete Huey and Louie meet Dewey part 1

     Dewey Decimal Catagories

3.  Go to Type to Learn

 

B. I know how non fiction books are organized in the library.

I can find nonfiction books that  I am looking for.

1.  As a class, practicie putting nonfiction books in order.

2. Use the Shelving game to practice what you have learned.  If finished, use the Order in the Library game for more practice

3.  Go to Type to Learn if there is time

 

C. I can express my ideas using Google Draw

1.  Watch a demonstration of how to login and use Google Draw.

2. Copy the shape picture using the Draw tools.

3. Share the picture with your teacher.

4. Go to QuickDraw at https://quickdraw.withgoogle.com/#  OR create a monster face in Google Draw.

 

D. I can express my ideas using Google Draw

1.  Watch a demonstration of how to add images and text boxes in Google Draw.

2. Create a Meme (a Poster with words).

3. Share the picture with your teacher.

4.  Finish your picture from last week, if needed.

E. I can express my ideas using Google Draw

1.  Watch a demonstration of how to add word art and layer images in Google Draw.

2. Pick your favorite section of books in the Dewey Decimal System.  See    Dewey Decimal Catagories

3.  Create a poster using shapes, images, text boxes and word art to advertise your section.

4. Share the poster with your teacher.
