Talent Development Opportunities in our Community

Our Twin Cities Metro community has many talent development and advanced learning opportunities. We will work to update this page as new and interesting opportunities become available. Some longstanding programs in our community be aware of are:

  • North Suburban Summer Academy: An enrichment-based summer program for gifted and advanced learners. Contact the MPS district office for an enrollment code if your child has been identified as an advanced learner in MPS in early spring.

  • Success Beyond the Classroom: From Young Author's Conference to Big River Arts Festival, SBC has been bringing enrichment-based, talent development opportunities to twin cities kids for some time.

  • Math Enrichment and UMTYMP at the University of Minnesota: Saturday math enrichment programs and advanced math courses (that can be used for secondary credit) are offered. Highly advanced elementary math students can take the UMTYMP entrance exam in the spring of their 5th grade year.

  • Future Problem Solving: For students in grades 4 and up. This program provides opportunities to develop leadership, critical thinking and creative problem solving skills.
