MCA TESTING AT WHITTIER

MCA TESTING for Whittier’s in-person learners will begin on Tuesday, April 13 and will continue until Friday, May 21, and will take place during the regular school day.  Teachers will share the testing schedules with their in-person learning students.

The MCA/MTAS tests cannot be done remotely. Testing for Distance Learners will take place across multiple days for students in grades 3-12, and bussing from home to school and from school back home will be provided, as well as school day meals. The exact calendar for your student will become available after Spring Break but will occur on 2-3 of the following Wednesdays: April 21, 28; May 5, 12, and 19.

We are further asking our Distance Learning Families to complete this survey because you have a student in distance learning. All families whose students are in distance learning should complete this form to let us know whether or not they would like their student to participate in MCA testing, and if so, if transportation is needed.

The information gathered in this survey will be used by the assessment team for planning purposes and will be shared with your students’ testing coordinator so that they are able to contact families regarding testing dates and times.

MPS is required to provide the MCA/MTAS tests, however, students are not required to complete them. Should you desire to OPT OUT of these required tests, please complete this form.

Any questions, please contact our Testing Coordinator at David.Cardona-Rivera@mpls.k12.mn.us or call the Whittier Secretary, Jeannie Modaff at 612-668-4173.
