The Whittier Wellness Committee

Our wellness minute for the Month of May is centered around taking a deep breath and focusing on what we need — and who we need — in order to be present and keep ourselves centered while staying healthy and productive — professionally and personally.

Hello Wellness Champions,

MPS Culinary & Wellness Services is excited to announce our first-ever Junior Iron Chef: At Home Edition! Now through June 1, MPS Culinary & Wellness Services is encouraging ALL Junior Chefs—children 18 years or younger—to get creative in their kitchens at home and develop recipes inspired by our MPS’ food boxes, which are free for children and available for pick-up during school closure.

Our next JUNIOR IRON CHEF could be from OUR school!

Here’s how this at-home competition will work: each Junior Chef must create

and submit a recipe using at least TWO ingredients from a MPS food box along with a photo/video of their finished dish. Recipe submissions are due June 1. Three finalists will have their recipes tested on camera by MPS CWS chefs and one will win the title of JUNIOR IRON CHEF! We hope this competition will help to inspire some fun, creative cooking projects at home. Cooking and writing recipes is also a great hands-on connection to language arts, math, science, and more!

For complete information and instructions for how to submit recipes, visit our Junior Iron Chef webpage. Sharable competition information is also available on the Facebook event.
